Dinosaur Hill Park is a hidden gem in the hills of Lafayette, California. It has a fire lookout tower and views that go on for miles, it's great for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But don't let its seclusion fool you - Dinosaur Hill has plenty to offer with over 17 miles of trails that are perfect for day hikes or just a leisurely walk through nature. The park also offers camping facilities at no cost to those who want an overnight stay under the stars.

On top of the hill, there is a beautiful oak tree forest that creates an impressive canopy over lovely small pathways. These paths wind their way through hills clothed in lush green grass and provide ample opportunities for capturing amusing photographs. February means you can see everything from trees to flowers dressed up in bright colors.

Only northbound traffic has access to a tiny parking space high above the city. A stairwell and railroad tie stairs climb up from here, leading visitors towards great views of Mount Diablo on clear days. Pleasant Hill, Concord, Walnut Creek, and even parts of Northern California can be seen with just one glance in this small but popular park.

Dinosaur Hill is a park that’s more of an open field than anything else. There are no designated play areas, and the lack thereof may make it unsuitable for little children who can become bored easily. However, this still-fantastic place has one thing going for it: memories! For those who lived in the area as kids, Dinosaur Hill brings back many fond childhood memories—memories of playing on meadows with friends and running around freely.

Dinosaur Hill Park offers something for everyone; just be sure you wear your walking shoes and sunscreen!
