Theragun Percussion Therapy
The Theragun uses a soft, blunt tip to provide a high frequency deep massage to the muscles.
The tip of the massage gun touches and retracts from a person’s body 40 times a second, delivering a percussive massage that reaches 16 millimeters into the muscle.
The Theragun works by blocking pain signals to the brain and increasing circulation to the muscles. While a person can use the Theragun by themselves, a trained massage therapist can use the Theragun on precise muscle restrictions to help enhance the outcome of the session.
Cupping Therapy
Fire cupping, often known simply as cupping, is a therapeutic technique associated with Eastern medicine. It involves the application of heated cups to the body, creating a seal which pulls the skin into the cup slightly. Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Gua Sha
Instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation often called gua sha or kerokan, is part of traditional Chinese medicine in which a tool is used to scrape people's skin in order to produce light petechiae (red spots on skin). Practitioners believe that gua sha releases unhealthy bodily matter from blood stasis within sore, tired, stiff or injured muscle areas to stimulate new oxygenated blood flow to the areas, thus promoting metabolic cell repair, regeneration, healing and recovery.
Infrared Light Therapy
Low-level-light therapy or photobiomodulation is based on Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology and is the application of light energy to the body for therapeutic benefits. It promotes a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis. The energy delivered by the LEDs has been shown to enhance cellular metabolism, accelerate the repair and replenishment of damaged skin cells, as well as stimulate the production of collagen — the foundation of healthy, smooth skin. Research has shown that LED light therapy may help smooth skin texture, improve skin firmness and resilience, increase lymphatic system activity, reduce pain and inflammation, restore skin’s natural cellular activity, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and superficial hyperpigmentation.
Hot Stone
The stone massage is a form of alternative medicine massage therapy and bodywork involving the placement or movement of a number of either heated or cooled stones to the body for the purpose of pain relief, relaxation and therapy. There are a manifold of variations and techniques used in the application of stone massage therapy, deriving from a variety of traditional practices. Stone massages are primarily used to alleviate physical pain issues, however, are also used to promote emotional and spiritual wellbeing in practice.
