Parks and Trails

Paso Nogal Park is situated between Taylor Boulevard to the south, Morello Avenue to the east, and Paso Nogal Road. This open space area has a 2.5-acre gated dog exercise facility with 63 acres of picturesque hiking paths in which many people enjoy spending their time for leisure or even just walking around admiring all that nature offers them as they go about their day-long activities.

Dog Park

Outside of the fenced-in off-leash dog park area, dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. The open space hiking paths are included under this regulation. On the trails, visitors should respect others who may or may not appreciate friendly greetings from your pup! Tourists and locals alike can enjoy these natural spaces in Paso Nogal Park without fear of being jumped by an overzealous four-legged friend looking for love.

Additional rules to take note of when using the off-leash areas of the dog park:

  • A dog has to be at least 6 months old and free of infectious diseases to enter the park. To ensure this, a registration tag on your dog's collar must also have up-to-date information about immunizations and other health concerns from any time since they were last seen by their vet.

  • Owners and handlers have a responsibility to clean up after their dogs. As such, it has been made easy for them with doggie bags that are provided by donations from memberships (PH DOG).

  • All dogs who visit the dog park must be on a leash. The Dog Park is an area for animals to run and play off-leash in designated areas while under the control of their owners or handlers, but all pets that go there need to stay on leashes at all times unless they are playing with other canines inside one of the two enclosed pens.

  • Digging is a common instinct for some dogs, but it's an act that can be damaging to the ground and create problems with other users. That means owners/handlers need to make sure their pets don't do any digging!

  • Dogs that are in heat are not permitted. A dog park is always a rambunctious place. But for the many dogs that are in heat, it becomes an uncomfortable and sometimes even dangerous environment.

  • The maximum number of dogs per owner/handler is four.

  • The park has two fenced-in areas for canine exercise that dogs can use: one where dogs under 25 pounds can play, and another designated for larger breeds.
